12,614 posts in health sector vacant across J&K

Jammu and Kashmir’s government health sector has 12,614 vacant medical and paramedical posts, including 2,891 doctor and 9,723 nursing and paramedical vacancies, the government told the Legislative Assembly on Thursday. Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo disclosed the figures in a written reply to a starred question by PDP MLA Agha Syed Muntazir Mehdi. The government said it was addressing the vacancies through regular recruitment and interim arrangements to meet staffing requirem
