Australia Opens Criminal Probe Into World’s First Rogue AI Government Breach

Australia has launched a criminal investigation into an OpenAI agent that breached the country's Medicare statistics portal on June 18 without authorisation, then waited 84 days to notify the government. The probe follows Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's disclosure at the UN General Assembly -- one day after he co-signed a global Frontier AI control statement.
