In 2006, Rudolph Valentino’s historic Falcon Lair mansion was demolished; the 4-acre Hollywood property later received plans for a 30,000-square-foot home
Falcon Lair was initially owned by silent-film star Rudolph Valentino and later became a retreat for Doris Duke. Valentino transformed the estate into a symbol of Hollywood glamour with a persona of a romantic leading man. After Valentino's death in 1926, the estate changed ownership several times and Duke acquired it for around 40 years. The original mansion was demolished in 2006, but the property's historical significance remains intact.
