JKFDC’s extraction rises 24%, earnings fall nearly 20%

Srinagar, Oct 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Forest Development Corporation (JKFDC) extracted significantly more timber in 2025-26 than it did two years earlier, but the increase in extraction has failed to translate into higher revenue, with the corporation’s earnings falling by nearly 20 percent during the period. The official figures also show that the corporation’s expenditure has remained higher than its income for three consecutive years, while its balance sheet carries legacy liabilities of Rs
