Rockhampton's 2032 Brisbane Olympics dream takes shape on the Fitzroy River
As hundreds of young rowers hit the Fitzroy River in a school regatta, the Olympic dream is already starting to feel real in Rockhampton.
It's 7am on Saturday and the crack of a starter's gun can be heard in the distance upstream.
Eight boats spring from the starting line, as teenage rowers begin to slice through the glassy, brown waters of the Fitzroy River in central Queensland.
