Lessons will be "totally or partly suspended" at up to 500 high schools across France on Monday, the country's education minister has said, after days of sometimes violent protests against teacher shortages, dilapidated school buildings and overcrowding in classrooms. The minister said 24 schools had been "burned or ransacked" since the start of protests.
