USS Santa Barbara Faces Critical Engine Problems, Urgent Repairs in Singapore | Report

The USS Santa Barbara is undergoing urgent repairs in Singapore after government contracting documents reviewed by The Washington Sun revealed serious maintenance problems aboard the U.S. Navy warship. The documents say all four engines were operating beyond recommended limits, creating a “critical threat of mechanical failure.” The ship also needed repairs to its cooling systems, fire pump and stern tube seal. The Navy says the ship arrived safely and will return to operations after maintenance
