8th Pay Commission announcement: Currently, the minimum basic pay under the 7th Pay Commission is Rs 18,000 per month. The final recommendations of the 8th CPC are expected to benefit more than 1 crore people, including nearly 50 lakh central government employees and around 65 lakh pensioners.
