Researchers at TU Graz exposed side-channel leaks in file-notification systems used by Android, Linux, macOS and Windows. The flaws enable keystroke timing, website fingerprinting and UI redress attacks with high accuracy. Microsoft calls the behavior by design. Partial Linux fixes exist but broader changes remain necessary.
