Glioblastoma Treatment: UCSF Startup Turns Brain Tumors Into Immune Cell Factories

Glioblastoma treatment startup Kopra Bio raised $9.1M from Andreessen Horowitz and Y Combinator to advance KB-516, a replicating retrovirus that turns brain tumor cells into sustained IL-15 immune factories, into a first-in-human clinical trial in China. The UCSF spinout targets a cancer that has defeated every approved therapy for nearly 20 years.
