GLP-1 Weight-Loss Boom Linked to Surge in Poison Control Calls, Most Avoidable

A new study in the Journal of Medical Toxicology traces America's GLP-1 drug boom to an eightfold rise in poison control calls, from 1,500 a year before 2021 to more than 8,000 by 2023, with 64 percent tied to semaglutide alone. Most were avoidable dosing errors, not deliberate misuse.
