IIT Guwahati researchers have developed E-Eye, a low-cost portable optical sensing device that can detect toxicants including arsenic, lead, iron, chromium, fluoride and E. coli in water and other samples. Costing around Rs 3,500, the device delivers lab-comparable results and can wirelessly transmit data for real-time monitoring.
