Kids of mums with congenital heart defects may be more developmentally vulnerable

The children of mothers with congenital heart disease may have a higher risk of developmental vulnerability at age five, according to international research. The study, which looked at 250,000 kids in Canada, found that the 456 kids who had mothers with a congenital heart defect had a 28% higher risk of scoring in the bottom 10% of two categories that assess child development at age five.
