The Mizoram Government has introduced a new policy allowing residents to obtain permits for alcohol consumption on medical grounds. This initiative, led by the Zoram People's Movement, marks a significant shift in the state's historically strict liquor laws. Eligible individuals can apply for a 'Red Card' permit, which requires a prescription from a registered medical practitioner. The move aims to support local farmers and gradually liberalize the state's liquor regulations, which have long bee
