BEST has sought Rs 3,941 crore from the BMC to bridge a projected transport deficit of Rs 2,439 crore and clear pending retirement dues of Rs 1,502 crore. The undertaking said the funding is essential to meet statutory obligations and sustain Mumbai's public bus services amid mounting financial pressure.
