Scientists Identify One of the Faintest Known Galaxies in the Andromeda System, a Dwarf Object So Dim It Pushes the Limits of Modern Telescopes

Astronomers examining wide-field survey data noticed an extremely faint structure in the direction of Andromeda. At first glance, it seemed almost indistinguishable from background fluctuations, yet further analysis suggested there could be more to it.
