Stagnant water accumulated at several places in the city following monsoon showers has raised concerns over mosquito breeding. Residents fear that waterlogged vacant plots, roadside depressions and other unattended spots could become breeding grounds for mosquito larvae and increase the risk of vector-borne diseases.
