Thousands of customers affected by widespread power outages in Halifax area amid heat wave

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers lost electricity on Friday night. Nova Scotia Power says there was a transmission interruption just before 8 p.m. Electricity is estimated to be restored around midnight.
