Scientists at Wake Forest University School of Medicine have uncovered a previously unrecognised cancer-intrinsic role for SIRPα in triple-negative breast cancer, linking the cell-surface protein to mitochondrial fission, tumour-cell migration and suppression of the brain’s immune defences.
