Why Google is seeking approval to release 32 million bacteria-infected mosquitoes in the US

According to a Yahoo report, the project is designed to reduce populations of disease-carrying mosquitoes by releasing specially treated insects that can disrupt reproduction and limit the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses.
